As the owner of a (dv) Dedicated-Virtual server, you may find a need to allow an individual, perhaps a client or someone you hire, to only have access to one domain. The following walkthrough will allow you to provide someone with admin rights, but not to the entire server; just the one domain.

  1. Click on Clients and make sure that whichever client the domain is attached to (usually it will be My Domains) is active. This would be shown as a green icon in the "S" column, to the left of the client record. If it is red, click on it to activate it. For more information on Plesk Clients, please read: (dv):Plesk Clients.
  2. Click on Domains in the menu.
  3. Click on the domain you want to grant access.
  4. In the domain window, find the "Domain Administrator" icon and click it.
  5. Check the box next to: Allow domain administrator's access.
  6. The username will simply be the domain name itself, i.e. bobsautoparts.com or example.com, so just create a password.
  7. Permissions: Under this area you can control the level of access the domain administrator has. If you don't want them changing something, then do not give them access to it.
  8. Direct your client to the plesk login page, either one of them will work: http://www.exmaple.com:8443 or http://www.exmaple.com:8880
  9. Use the domain username and the password you created and you will be logged in to that domain only and be able to administrate over it.
