Depending on the settings you choose for your subscription or domain, you may notice that it is "locked for sync."

What this means is that you have customized the server settings for this subscription or domain, so that if you update one of your templates for these settings, this domain will not update. You will have to update this subscription or domain individually.

This is for settings like disk space, number of email addresses, user permissions, etc.

A domain will become locked for sync if you do the following:

  1. Log into the Plesk Server Administration Panel. See Figure 1:

Figure 1. The Plesk control panel. Click for a larger view.

  2. Click on Domains or Subscriptions. See Figures 2 and 3:

    Figure 2. Click Domains.

    Figure 3. Click Subscriptions.

  3. Click on the specific domain or subscription you want to edit.
  4. Click Customize. This will bring up various server settings for the domain or subscription. See Figure 4:

    Figure 4. Click Customize.

  5. After you have made your changes, click Update & Lock. This will save your settings, and will remove this domain or subscription from being synced with its template. See Figure 5:

Figure 5. Click Update & Lock.

Your domain or subscription now has custom server settings. If you want to return it to a template setting at some point, follow these instructions:

  1. Repeat Steps 1-3 above to access your domain or subscription settings.
  2. Click on Unlock & Sync. This will revert the domain or subscription settings to the settings for the template it used to have. See Figure 6:

Figure 6. Click Unlock & Sync.

Your domain or subscription should now be synced with the settings for that subscription again.
