The following steps will allow you to change the SSL certificate used for access to the Plesk administrative interface. One common reason to make this change is to use a signed SSL certificate to provide a greater sense of security for your Plesk users. This way, they will not need to make an exception for the default, unsigned certificate when accessing the Plesk Panels.

Secure the Panel

  1. Under the Server tab, click Tools and Utilites.
  2. Click the SSL Certificates button.
  3. Click the check box next to the certificate you wish to use to secure the Plesk Panels.
  4. Click the Secure the Panel button.
Keep in mind that SSL certificates are only valid for the domain or subdomains that they were issued for. For example, in order to properly use a signed SSL certificate for example.com to secure the Plesk interface, that interface will need to be accessed at "https://example.com:8443".
